NEW Provider Initiative in 2024
Bringing nature-based learning to every child care setting
Let’s Play Together!
In partnership with Empathy in Nature, CDA launched the Let’s
Play Together! program to make nature-based, play-driven
learning accessible to all child care providers—regardless of space
or setting.
This innovative initiative delivers a series of engaging, handson workshops that introduce outdoor and nature-inspired
activities into early learning environments. Grounded in current
research on child development and well-being, the program
equips providers with practical tools and strategies to seamlessly
integrate nature and play into their daily routines.
More than 50 child care providers participated in the workshop
series, gaining actionable insights, evidence-based practices, and
creative approaches to enriching children’s learning through
outdoor experiences. By promoting curiosity, movement, and
connection to nature, this initiative fosters environments where
children thrive emotionally, physically, and cognitively.
CDA is proud to continue this meaningful partnership as part
of our broader commitment to elevating the quality of child
care programs and supporting providers in creating joyful,
developmentally rich learning experiences for every child.
Research shows that children today spend, on average,
less than 30 minutes playing outside but over 7 hours on
electronic devices. Our approach to nature-play bene昀椀ts
children both mentally and physically, and also makes the
jobs of child care providers and educators easier.
