Supporting children’s healthy nutrition
Nutrition Program
CDA proudly administers the largest Child and Adult
Care Food Program (CACFP) in California, under contract
with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS).
Serving six counties across Southern California, CDA
delivers vital nutrition education and meal reimbursement
support to Licensed Family Child Care Homes and
Trustline providers—ensuring that thousands of children
receive access to healthy, nourishing meals every day.
By empowering providers to serve balanced, nutritious
meals, CDA helps create environments where children can
thrive—physically, cognitively, and emotionally. Through
technical assistance, training, and timely reimbursements,
CDA ensures providers have the resources they need
to meet program standards and con昀椀dently integrate
nutrition into daily care routines. For many of the children
served through this program, these meals may be the most
consistent source of nutritious food they receive.
Our commitment extends beyond implementation. CDA
plays an active role in the national CACFP Roundtable
forum, advocating for expanded access to healthy meals in
child care settings and raising awareness of food insecurity
among young children. This platform allows us to share
local insights, in昀氀uence policy discussions, and elevate
the critical role CACFP plays in combating child hunger
and promoting long-term well-being. By supporting both
providers and families, we are helping to lay the foundation
for healthier futures and stronger communities.
