Child care is essential
Empowering the child care
community
Child care providers are more than caregivers—they are educators, entrepreneurs, and trusted
partners in a child’s early development. As vital small business owners, they are key contributors
to the local economy and play a critical role in supporting working families. CDA is proud to
stand alongside these providers—helping them grow, achieve 昀椀nancial stability, and thrive.
To deepen support for those enrolled in our Child Care Payment Program, CDA expanded its
efforts to include targeted resources and direct 昀椀nancial assistance aimed at fostering stability,
economic mobility, and long-term sustainability. In 2023 and 2024 the California Department
of Social Services (CDSS) awarded CDA contracts to administer the Transitional Subsidy
Payments, Cost of Care Plus Rate Payments, and 昀椀nal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)
stipends to eligible providers across San Diego County.
These critical investments help providers manage rising operational costs, maintain consistent
services, and continue delivering dependable care to families. Through this work, CDA reaf昀椀rms
its commitment to uplifting the child care workforce—ensuring providers have the tools,
support, and resources they need to succeed today and into the future.
I am incredibly grateful for CDA’s help.
